Something I need to remember...

I have unanswered prayers
I have trouble I wish wasn't there
And I have asked a thousand ways
That You would take my pain away
That You would take my pain away

I am trying to understand
How to walk this weary land
Make straight the paths that crookedly lie
Oh Lord, before these feet of mine
Oh Lord, before these feet of mine

When my world is shaking
Heaven stands
When my heart is breaking
I never leave Your hands

When You walked upon the Earth
You healed the broken, lost, and hurt
I know You hate to see me cry
One day You will set all things right
Yea, one day You will set all things right

When my world is shaking
Heaven stands
When my heart is breaking
I never leave Your hands

Your hands
Your hands that shape the world
Are holding me, they hold me still
Your hands that shape the world
Are holding me, they hold me still

When my world is shaking
Heaven stands
When my heart is breaking
I never leave You when...

When my world is shaking
Heaven stands
When my heart is breaking
I never leave...
I never leave Your hands

  1. You should read Sacred Sorrow by Michael Card. God doesn't necessarily hate to see us cry.... but I won't get into it here. Just read the book and I think you'll understand. :)

  2. Hehe...I almost took that part out because I wasn't sure I agreed with it. I figured that either people wouldn't read it or skim over. ;) I want to read it sometime - I hadn't realized that MC had written books on sorrow/laments. I assume you like it?

  3. I haven't finished it. I bought it at the conference and got him to sign it and when he signed it he said it was his favorite book he'd written. Good way to start it, of course. I'm about a third of the way through probably. I love love love it. I'm reading it with a pen and have underlined close to half of it. There are so many good things in it. I'm a big 'lament person' like he said he is. But I won't try to talk about all my views and ideas on the subject because they are far too scattered and unorganized. If you want to borrow the book at some point, feel free. I'm planning to let Lydia borrow it after I'm finished, but once it's free I'll be sure to let you have it if you want it.

  4. I'd like to hear your views and ideas on the subject - send them in an email sometime if I don't get the chance to ask you in person anytime soon. :) Thanks for the offer - let me know when Lydia is finished, I'd love to borrow it!
