We Need A Revolution

To clarify, the definition of revolution (taken from dictionary.com) that I'll be using is "A total or radical change; as, a revolution in one's circumstances or way of living."

I believe in the sovereignty of God. He is in control. We are not to put our trust in man (Psalm 146:3), but in the living God - only He can save us! I do not think that means that we are to sit back and placidly accept everything that happens. Simply because God has allowed this to happen, I do not think that Christians should just accept it and move on. Obama may be the presumptive president-elect, but does that mean we are to do nothing to try and pull our country out of the immoral sludge it is gradually falling into?

In the words of II Chronicles 7:14, we need to call on God. Repent of our wicked ways and then turn away from them. We must humble ourselves before God and call on Him to save our land. We need Him to pour out His mercy on our land. On our own, we can do nothing. Ask for His helping in taking our country back to the place where it needs to be.

The next step is to be ready to fight. Taking America back won't be easy. By our complacency, we have let America backslide, step-by-step. We have let the little things slide, thinking that they were meaningless battles. Yet nothing is too small to not bring about change. America is in the state it is today because we have set back and allowed the abortion and gay rights activist to take over. Too long have people thought that there is nothing they can do to change this country. There are many things we can - and should - do as American citizens. I encourage you to exercise your right to vote. Contact your representatives and let them know what you expect from them, and your thoughts on different bills that are proposed. Hold your representatives accountable. Read the constitution. The most important thing we can do is something we have been commanded to do - pray for our leaders, that we may live quiet and peaceable lives.

We should honor those in authority over us, but that does not mean we don't oppose them when they go against the word of God. But that is a topic for another blog post...

Dear friends, join me in prayer for this country and our leaders. Join me in the fight to take America back.
